Given the imminent threat of cyclone Nisarga, which is expected to hit Mumbai on June 3, the Central Railways have rescheduled eight trains scheduled to arrive / depart Wednesday from the state capital.

The schedules of the special trains 02542 LTT-Gorakhpur, 06345 LTT-Thiruvananthapuram, 01061 LTT-Darbhanga, 01071 LTT-Varanasi, 01019 CSMT-Bhubaneshwar, which were to leave Mumbai during the day, were changed at night, according to the central railways . .

Likewise, special trains from Patna, Varanasi and Thiruvananthapuram, which were to reach Mumbai during the day have been regulated and will now arrive before the scheduled time.

More than 10 NDRF teams had been deployed to Maharashtra until Tuesday afternoon, and five other teams were on the way for ongoing operations following Cyclone Nisarga.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday that tropical storm Nisarga, which is heading for Gujarat and Maharashtra, is expected to intensify into a “severe cyclonic storm” in the next 24 hours and is expected to land near Mumbai on June 3.
