Barmer:
A woman reportedly committed suicide with her three children while jumping into a tank in the Barmer district of Rajasthan, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the village of Khara Mahechan. The four drowned, said Sindhari police station, Jetharam.
The dead were identified as Pappu Devi (30) and his three children – Kavita (6) Manish (4) and Suresh (2).
The officer said the woman’s eldest daughter survived while she was with the maternal grandmother. No one was present at the time of the incident.
He said relatives of the dead have been informed. The autopsy will take place Thursday after their arrival.
The cause of the incident has not been confirmed, but the woman apparently took the step due to a dispute with her husband.
