Panaji:

Defense Minister Shripad Naik said on Friday that military establishments in Goa are ready to assist the state government if the COVID-19 epidemic worsens.

Mr. Naik, a member of Parliament for Lok Sabha from Goa, chaired a meeting with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant here where senior coast guard, navy and military officers were present.

He said the three wings had agreed to provide all the assistance needed, including labor and sanitation.

Naik, who is also AYUSH Union Minister, said that all households in the state would receive immunity boosters through local MPs.

“We are taking distribution on the war foot in the 40 constituencies of the Assembly. The boosters would be supplied to the panchayats from where they will be distributed to households.

The AYUSH ministry will give 4 lakh boosters, and the required condition is around 6 lakh, “he said.
