Hyderabad:

The shooting and post-production of the film resumed their course in Telangana after almost three months, the country having relaxed the restrictions imposed by Unlock1, Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said today. However, guidelines and conditions should be followed to avoid a sudden increase in coronavirus cases, he said.

The chief minister clarified that production and filming can resume with a limited staff while respecting the directives issued from time to time by the government. Post-production work was also authorized with the same riders.

Telangana, however, refused to authorize the opening of cinemas and multiplexes, as directives issued by the center prohibited it.

Several prominent film personalities met with Mr. Rao recently and asked for permission to resume filming and post-production work as well as the opening of movie theaters in the state.

Leading film producer and studio owner Rama Naidu Suresh Babu Daggubati, speaking exclusively to GalacticGaming, said there was no need to rush the opening of cinemas because opening them prematurely could kill the entertainment industry .

Minister of Photography Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and other prominent film figures have come together to prepare a draft directive on instructions from the chief minister for the billion-dollar industry to resume work with Unlock1.

The number of coronavirus cases continues to increase in India as the country eases restrictions to curb the spread of the contagion. With more than 2.56 lakh cases, India surpassed Spain to become the 5th most affected country in the world. Telangana has reported more than 3,600 cases with at least 137 deaths to date.
