Uddhav Thackeray said that there are countless COVID-19 warriors who have come to the aid of the needy.

Raju Chavan, a visually impaired telephone operator at St George’s government hospital in Mumbai, was surprised on Tuesday by a call from Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, who congratulated him on being a COVID-19 warrior.
Mr. Chavan and another physically disabled telephone operator, Sandeep Shinde, have been devoted to their hospital work for the past two months without taking a day off during the coronavirus-induced lockout.
Mr. Chavan handles telephone calls during the day, while Mr. Shinde works at night.
Thackeray called St George Hospital in south Mumbai around 12:30 p.m. and spoke to Chavan after learning of the two workers’ dedication to duty, especially in these difficult times, according to a statement. through the Office of the Chief Minister (CMO).
When Mr. Thackeray congratulated him on his dedication to work, a humble Mr. Chavan paid tribute to his elders and said that his contribution was “modest”.
To which, the chief minister replied “If everyone contributed even a small part, the war against the virus can be won”, according to the press release.
“You are doing a great job at a time when hospitals need staff. Despite being a divyang, you work without taking a day off. It is an inspiration to others,” Thackeray told Mr. Chavan.
Chavan said that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the number of calls to the hospital has increased manifold.
“We are not only connecting calls, but also cheering and guiding families and anxious parents,” Chavan told the chief minister during the conversation.
Thackeray said there are countless COVID-19 “ yoddhas ” (warriors) who have come to the aid of the needy in these difficult times without asking for anything in return, the statement said.
“Despite the fact that the coronavirus is triggering a health emergency, many people have clung to humanity. I have great respect for these people,” said Thackeray.
