PM Modi invited European investments and technologies to increase renewable energy in India

The European Union said on Wednesday that India had played an important role in the fight against the coronavirus, saying that it had also contributed to international efforts to fight the pandemic.
Opinions were expressed at the 15th EU-India Virtual Summit by President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday.
“I would like to thank India for the cooperation your country has shown with the EU. I would like to pay tribute to your role at national and international, multilateral level in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” said M Michel.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India and the EU are natural partners.
The Prime Minister said that India wanted to increase the use of renewable energy and invited investment and technology from Europe.
“We had to cancel the India-EU summit in March due to COVID-19. It is good that we can meet today via virtual media. In addition to the current challenges, the long-term challenges like climate change are also a priority for India and the EU. In our efforts to increase the use of renewable energy in India, we invite investment and technology from Europe, “he said.
“Our partnership is important for world peace and stability. This reality has become even clearer in the world situation today,” he added.
The EU is one of India’s biggest trade and investment partners, but India’s untapped trade potential with India, sources said before the India-EU virtual summit on Wednesday and noted that the two parties had great potential to develop a comprehensive foreign trade agreement.
The summit was scheduled to take place earlier this year, but has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and is being held practically.
