After resuming two months, India resumed domestic passenger flights from Monday (representative)

New Delhi:

The Ministry of Civil Aviation authorized charter flights to resume operations from Monday, the day when scheduled domestic passenger flights also began.

The ministry said that “non-scheduled and private operators” of fixed-wing planes, helicopters and light micro-planes could resume domestic flights starting on May 25.

In its directives, the department declared that if a passenger had manually reserved his ticket for a chartered helicopter flight, the boarding pass will be issued at the heliport or at the heliport with minimum contact and after having followed all disinfection protocols prescribed by local administration.

Passengers must arrive at the airport, heliport or heliport at least 45 minutes before departure time, the ministry said.

“Vulnerable people, such as very old women, pregnant women and passengers with health problems, are advised to avoid air travel,” the statement said. “However, this will not apply to air ambulance services.”

The price cap for tickets, issued by aviation regulator DGCA last week for scheduled domestic passenger flights, will not apply on charter flights.

“Air transport costs (on charter flights) must comply with the conditions mutually agreed between operators and travelers,” said the ministry.

Most of the directives issued by the Ministry of Aviation were similar to those issued for passengers of operators of domestic commercial passenger flights.

After an interval of two months, India resumed domestic passenger flights from Monday and 532 domestic flights were operated.
