New Delhi:
A former bureaucrat launched a political party – Rashtravadi Vikas Party – and decided to contest the elections in Bihar which are expected to take place later this year.
It is an initiative to bring social harmony and inclusive growth back to society, said party founder Anup Srivastava, a retired Indian Revenue Service (customs and central excise) officer, on Sunday.
“This political organization is going to be a different entity. It will not engage in petty politics but will work for the well-being of all strata of society. We want to ensure better education and better jobs for our young people”, did he declare.
Mr. Srivastava, former president of the whole association of Indian officers IRS (customs and central excise), said that the party had decided to contest the 243 seats of the assembly of Bihar.
“We have launched a massive membership campaign and are asking people of all caste, creed and religion to join our party. We will work for social cohesion. We have won the support of a large number of people, including bureaucrats , judges and military personnel, “he said.
Srivastava said that the necessary formalities are being completed to guarantee the speedy registration of the party with the Indian Election Commission.
“The foreclosure has delayed our registration process. We will soon be submitting our party registration request to the Commission,” he said.
