It is a bad strategy to mention only a few deaths each day in the (medical) report: Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai:

BJP senior Devendra Fadnavis said on Thursday that the Maharashtra government had not reported around 1,000 deaths from COVID-19.

In a new letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Fadnavis urged him to order an investigation into the alleged failure to report the deaths.

On June 15, he wrote a similar letter to the CM regarding the unreported deaths of COVID-19 in Mumbai.

Fadnavis said that one day after his June 15 letter, the government reported 950 deaths from COVIDs in Mumbai. However, in the last letter, he accused the government of not having reported about 1,000 such deaths in the state.

“It is a bad strategy of the state government not to report some 1,000 deaths caused by COVID-19. These deaths have still not been reported,” he said.

“According to my information, the death of 1,000 people from COVID-19 in the past three months has not been reported so far. Any death from COVID-19 should be reported within 72 hours. it does not happen, “alleged the opposition leader in the Maharashtra assembly.

“It is a bad strategy to mention only some of these deaths every day in the (medical) report. The government should admit the undeclared deaths of COVID-19 patients,” said the former chief minister.

“I wrote a letter on June 15 after which the state reported 950 deaths in Mumbai the next day. The government later reported other deaths, bringing the number of unreported deaths previously at 1200 in the city of Mumbai alone, “he said. .
