Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said Thursday that he will continue to speak up for the well-being of the people, even if another 100 FIRs are registered against him.
Commenting on the FIR registered against him for protesting against the increase in fuel prices yesterday, Mr. Singh said: “If for the cause of the people, 100 additional FIR are registered against me, I will welcome them.”
“The BJP has double standards. In Indore, on the anniversary of a central minister and a former deputy, a distributed ration and around 1,500 people gathered there without meeting the standard and masks of social distancing. There are no cases against this person, “said Singh. .
“During BJP meetings, there is no social distancing, but there is no FIR against them. The Minister of the Interior goes to the electoral district and walks without mask and meets hundreds people, but no FIR has been registered against him, “said Congress. said the chief.
“I want to ask BJP two questions. Should gasoline and diesel prices go up this way? Up to 19 times the prices have gone up,” he added.
An FIR has been registered against Congress leader Digvijaya Singh and 150 other party workers in connection with his bicycle march against rising fuel prices.
The FIR is registered under articles 341, 188, 143, 269 and 270 of the IPC.
On Wednesday, Singh and his party leaders organized a bicycle march to protest the continued surge in fuel prices and alleged that the hike is a “disaster opportunity” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The leaders of the Congress had started their march from the intersection of Roshanpura to the residence of the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
