Shimla:
Three men have been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in Una District, Himachal Pradesh, police said on Saturday.
The 22-year-old was gang-raped in a village under Haroli Subdivision on Friday, said Anil Kumar, Haroli Subdivision Police Officer (SDPO).
The police official told PTI news agency that the incident was reported to police on Saturday and the three defendants were subsequently arrested.
All the accused and the victim are from the same village, he added.
The police official said the case was under investigation.
Meanwhile, Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Mukesh Agnihotri, who represents Haroli’s segment of the assembly, called the gang rape shameful for Himachal Pradesh “devbhoomi”.
