A woman and her daughter were found dead in their home in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, police said.
Barabanki police chief Arvind Chaturvedi said: “We received reports on Monday morning that the bodies of a woman and her daughter were found while another of the woman’s daughters was found injured. “
Chaturvedi said an initial investigation had revealed that the woman’s husband works in Kuwait.
“The woman lived here with her children. She also lived with her parents and sometimes with her parents-in-law. She arrived here from her parents-in-law 20 days ago. Sunday evening, she had dinner with her sister-in-law and went home around 9:30 p.m. “
The house was locked from the inside and the woman’s body was found on the terrace. “It seems that a well-known person entered the house and murdered her. We are investigating further,” said the official.
