Asaduddin Owaisi wondered how the court could declare that there was no conspiracy in the matter.

Hyderabad:

Expressing his outrage at the verdict of a special CBI tribunal which acquitted the 32 defendants, including BJP veteran LK Advani, in the Babri Mosque demolition case, the head of AIMIM, Asaduddin Owaisi called it “odious” on Wednesday and said the central agency should appeal.

Addressing reporters, Owaisi, in his reaction to the judgment, said: “This judgment satisfies the collective conscience of the Hindutva and its supporters and its ideology.”

He wonders how the court can declare that there is no conspiracy in the matter.

“Was it some kind of magic that on December 6th the mosque was demolished? Who called for the people to be gathered there? Who made sure they got in there?” He asked.

Mr Owaisi said the CBI should appeal the judgment “to protect its independence”.

Calling the IWC tribunal’s ruling “unpleasant,” he said he would urge the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) to appeal against it. The Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was demolished on December 6, 1992, which sparked riots lasting several months with thousands of deaths across the country.
