The government of Yogi Adityanath is in the process of setting up a portal, where virtual lamps can be lit.

Lucknow:

The government of Uttar Pradesh is preparing for a big virtual celebration of Diwali in Ayodhya this year by creating a website for devotees to light a virtual lamp on the occasion. This is in addition to around 5.5 lakh earth lamps that will be lit during Deepotsav on November 13.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually participate in Deepotsav, according to a state government statement.

“After a long and agonizing wait of more than 492 years, the dream of a great Ram temple has come true. The state government is ensuring that no one is deprived of the joy of lighting a lamp of faith in Ram Lalla’s ‘Darbaar’, ”the statement said.

“On special instruction from UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the government is setting up a portal, where virtual lamps can be lit.” he said further.

The portal will have a portrait of Shri Ram Lalla Virajman, in front of which the virtual lamps will be lit. The portal will also have the possibility to choose a lamp holder of its choice – steel color, brass color or any other.

Once the lamps are lit, based on the details of the worshipers, a digital “thank you” letter from the Chief Minister, bearing the photo of Ram Lalla, will be released. The web portal will be available before the main event on November 13th.

While giving instructions to Ayodhya Deepotsav, Adityanath clarified that there should be no violation of the COVID-19 protocol.

He also said that on Deepotsav, along with “Ram Ki Pauri”, all dogs, temples and houses will also light lamps. The Chief Minister will view paintings depicting various episodes of the Ramayana and perform “aarti” of characters playing Ram, Sita and Laxman.

The chief minister will also play Ram Lalla’s “aarti” at Ram Janmabhoomi’s premises, the statement said.
