Trivendra Rawat also praised the female officers for doing their duty with courage in these difficult border areas.

Dehradun:

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Saturday celebrated Diwali with the ITBP and army jawans in Uttarakashi district and said the country could only sleep peacefully because they were fighting every chance to keep its borders secure.

Mr. Rawat spent time with the ITBP jawans in their camp in Kopang and with the 9th Battalion of the Bihar Regiment in Harshil. He distributed sweets and wished them and their families a Happy Diwali.

“Our army and paramilitary force personnel are working under difficult conditions at the borders, living far from their families. It is thanks to them that the whole country is sleeping peacefully,” he said.

He especially commended the female officers for doing their duty with courage in such difficult border areas, saying they were an inspiration to all.
