New Delhi, June 27 (PTI):
Delhi police have arrested three suspected Khalistan terrorists who were planning to carry out targeted killings in various northern states, officials said on Saturday.
The accused were identified as Mohinder Pal Singh (29), a resident of Delhi; Gurtej Singh (41), resident of Punjab; and Lovepreet (21), a resident of Haryana, they said.
Three pistols and seven live cartridges were recovered.
Three phones with numerous “incriminating” videos and photographs related to the Khalistan movement were also recovered, said a senior police official.
“The police were informed of the activities of Mohinder, a supporter of the Khalistan Liberation Force. He planned to carry out terrorist activity in the national capital. Subsequently, a trap was laid near Hastsal on June 15 and. .. Mohinder was arrested, “said police chief Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
After interrogation, Lovepreet was arrested in the Kaithal district of Haryana. They both later drove the police to Mansa, Punjab, where Gurtez was arrested, said Yadav.
Those arrested revealed their ties to leaders of the Khalistan Liberation Force living abroad and revealed their intention to carry out targeted killings on the instructions of Khalistani terrorists sponsored by Pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), added the police.
