New Delhi:

On Sunday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi urged party leaders to fight for the people’s problems while noting that democracy was going through “the most difficult times”.

Sonia Gandhi’s affirmation came during a meeting of the Secretaries General of the AICC and State Offices which was chaired by her.

In a tweet about the meeting which started at 4 p.m., Congress Chief Spokesman Randeep Surjewala said, “Sonia ji urged everyone to stand up for people’s problems and alleviate their suffering as our democracy goes through difficult times. “

The meeting is significant as it precedes crucial Bihar polls and major bypasses in various states, including 28 Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh.

Congress has vehemently raised issues such as the passing of farm bills, the alleged gang rape and death of a girl in the Hathras of Uttar Pradesh, the law and order situation in the Uttar Pradesh, the state of the economy and the management of government.

The party organized nationwide protests against agricultural laws.
