Bombay:

Actor Rhea Chakraborty was questioned on Sunday for the third day in a row over the death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. She was seen leaving the government guesthouse in Mumbai where the CBI set up its base after about eight hours on Sunday evening. His brother Showik Chakraborty was also called by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the fourth day in a row to be questioned in the case, an official said.

Rhea Chakraborty and her brother reached the DRDO guesthouse at Kalina in Santacruz, where the investigation team is stationed, at around 10:30 am, he said. A Mumbai police vehicle escorted the car in which the two arrived at the guesthouse, he said.

Samual Miranda, the manager of Sushant Singh Rajput, and domestic helper Keshav also arrived at the guesthouse in the morning.

Previously, Rhea Chakraborty had been questioned for nearly 10 hours on Friday and allowed to return home under police escort as large numbers of media staff were present outside her building. She was interrogated for about seven hours on Saturday.

His brother has been questioned by the CBI since Thursday.

On Saturday, the CBI also interviewed Rajput’s roommate Siddharth Pithani, cook Neeraj Singh and accountant Rajat Mewati at the guesthouse.

Ms Chakraborty, 28, who dated Mr Rajput, 34, for a year and left his home on June 8, six days before he was found dead, was asked a series of questions including details of her relationship with Mr. Rajput and his family, why she left Mr. Rajput’s house and whether she had any contact with him after his departure.

The CBI, which took over the case following a Supreme Court order, is investigating allegations by Mr. Rajput’s family that Ms. Chakraborty and her family mentally harassed the actor, took him to task. money and allegedly played a role in his death in June.

At least three separate investigations are underway in this case – by the CBI, the Law Enforcement Directorate (DE) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (BCN). The DE examines “suspicious financial transactions” involving rupee crores, while the BCN examines drug-related allegations based on WhatsApp chats retrieved from Ms. Chakraborty’s phone.

Ms Chakraborty denied all the charges, calling Mr Rajput’s father’s allegations “pathetic” that she had poisoned his son and stole money from him. Ms Chakraborty also denied any connection to the drug (she claimed that Mr Rajput, however, had used marijuana and was trying to wean him off) and said “never took a single rupee” to l actor deceased.
