Rakhi 2020: This year, Raksha Bandhan is low-key amid COVID-19 pandemic

Happy Raksha Bandhan 2020: It’s Rakhi today, one of the most popular and famous festivals in India. President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted people in Raksha Bandhan. This year’s celebrations are mostly taking place indoors as the number of COVID-19 infections increases every day.

“Greetings to Raksha Bandhan! Rakhi is the sacred thread of love and trust that connects sisters to brothers in a special bond. On this day, let us reiterate our commitment to guarantee the honor and dignity of women, ”President Kovind wrote on Twitter.

“Many greetings to all citizens for the Raksha Bandhan festival,” the prime minister tweeted. The vice president said the festival reaffirms the strong bonds of love and affection that unite the brothers and sisters.

Other Union ministers, senior ministers and other leaders have wished people on social media.
