PM to lay foundation stone for projects in Varanasi on Monday

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects in Varanasi, including those related to agriculture, tourism and infrastructure.
The total cost of these projects is Rs 614 crore, the prime minister’s office said in a statement.
“An important chapter of Varanasi’s development journey will be added tomorrow. I will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for many projects via videoconference at 10:30 am. These include those related to agriculture, tourism as well as to ‘other infrastructure projects,’ PM Modi tweeted.
The Prime Minister will also interact with the beneficiaries of these projects during the event, the PMO statement said. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, will also be present on the occasion.
The projects to be inaugurated include the Sarnath sound and light show, the modernization of the Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital in Ramnagar, sanitation works, infrastructure for the protection and conservation of cows, a multipurpose seed warehouse.
Other projects that will be inaugurated are a 100 MT agricultural products warehouse, IPDS phase 2, a housing complex for the players of the Sampurnanand stadium, smart lighting works of the city of Varanasi, as well as 105 Anganwadi Kendras and 102 “ Gau Ashray Kendras ”.
During the event, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for projects such as the redevelopment of Dashashwamedh Ghat and Khidkiya Ghat, the PAC police barracks, the redevelopment of certain districts of Kashi, a car park as well as the redevelopment of the park in Beniya Bagh, modernization of the multipurpose hall of Girija Devi Sanskritik Sankul, repair work on the city’s roads and development of tourist sites.
