Over 57,000 Covid cases in 24 hours for the first time, 10.94 Lakh recoveries

India this morning reported another record increase in coronavirus cases with 57,118 new infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 1,695,988. The country has also seen 764 COVID-19-related deaths in the past 24 hours. past 24 hours, the Union Said the Ministry of Health. The total number of deaths from the virus now stands at 36,511. The country’s Covid toll had crossed the 16 lakh mark just three days after crossing 15 lakh infections.   1. India took 183 days to go through 16 lakh coronavirus cases. The country crossed the lakh milestone in 110 days after the first case was reported in Kerala on January 30. More than 60% of the total cases in the country and more than 50% of the total deaths were recorded in July.

  2. India cannot rely on herd immunity to stop the coronavirus pandemic given its demographics and scale, the health ministry said on Thursday, adding that the country will have to rely on a vaccine to completely defeat the COVID-19. According to the Israeli government, Israel and India are conducting large sample patient trials for four different types of technologies that have the potential to detect COVID-19 in about 30 seconds, including a breath analyzer and a test vocal.

  3. At 3.6 percent, the rate of increase in the number of cases in India is more than double that of 1.6 percent in the United States and significantly higher than that of Brazil of 2.3 percent – the only two countries with a higher workload.

  4. Maharashtra reported its largest single-day fresh case spike on Thursday with 11,000 infections, bringing the total to 4,11,798 cases. The state recorded the highest number of cases in India, followed by Tamil Nadu with 2 39,978 cases.

  5. Andhra Pradesh has passed Delhi to become the third most coronavirus-affected state in the country. The state has added more than 30,000 cases to its tally over the past three days, bringing the total number of people infected with the deadly virus to 1,40,933, including 1,349 deaths.

  6. In Delhi, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal canceled two actions by Arvind Kejriwal’s government as part of the third phase of easing the COVID-19 lockdown. The government of Mr. Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi party had authorized the reopening of hotels from Saturday and a one-week trial for the city’s weekly markets as part of “Unlock 3”. Delhi recorded 1,195 new cases of coronavirus on Friday, bringing the capital’s tally beyond 1.35 lakh. The number of deaths has risen to 3,963, according to health authorities.

  7. With a one-day record high of 2,496 cases, West Bengal’s COVID-19 tally broke the 70,000 mark on Friday. The state also reported 45 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 1,581, the state health department said. Kolkata, the state capital, saw the highest peak in one-day deaths with 21 people succumbing to the coronavirus.

  8. In Assam, coronavirus cases crossed the 40,000 mark on Friday with an additional 1,862 people, including a nine-day-old baby who tested positive, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said. Ninety-eight people have died from the virus in the state so far.

  9. On Wednesday, the government released the guidelines for Unlock3, the third phase in lifting coronavirus restrictions across the country. The nighttime curfew has been removed completely and gyms and yoga institutes – outside of containment areas – have been allowed to reopen

  10. The new coronavirus has killed nearly 675,000 people and infected at least 17.3 million since it emerged in China last December, according to the AFP news agency. The WHO has said the effects of the coronavirus pandemic will be felt for decades.
