Dilip Ghosh was speaking at a rally in Haldia, West Bengal.

Calcutta:

Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh on Sunday issued a controversial warning to supporters of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying they should make amends or risk breaking their arms and legs and even being you are.

“Didi’s brothers who create problems should change their ways over the next six months or else you will have broken arms, legs, ribs and head. You will need to go to the hospital. And if you do more than that, then you will have to go to the crematorium, ”Mr. Ghosh said at a rally in Haldia.

The Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee, popularly known as Didi, and the BJP have fostered a bitter rivalry in West Bengal which will hold assembly elections next year. Both sides accused each other of political violence and attacks on the other’s supporters.

Dilip Ghosh’s comments come just two days after Union Home Secretary Amit Shah visited Bengal, where he set an ambitious goal of winning 200 of the state’s 294 seats. Mr Ghosh and other BJP leaders from Bengal are expected to travel to Delhi on Monday for talks with party leader JP Nadda.

Claiming that the days of Trinamool’s government are numbered, Ghosh said central forces would ensure free and fair elections in the state.

“When there was Lalu Raj in Bihar, there was Jungle Raj, violence was a daily affair but we chased away the minions – it’s called BJP Raj. We have turned Jungle Raj into a democracy and we want to restore democracy to West Bengal too, “he said.

“I want to announce that the next elections to the Assembly will not be under the Didi police but by the Dada police. The police wearing a khaki dress will remain a hundred meters from the stands under the mango tree, sitting on a chair , chewing on khaini and watching the vote, ”he said.

The Trinamool Congress condemned the remarks and said Mr. Ghosh vitiates the state’s political atmosphere.

“These types of statements show that the BJP is trying to unleash a reign of terror and vitiate the state’s political atmosphere ahead of the Assembly polls. The people of the state would give them an appropriate response,” said Saugata Roy, a senior official. leader of Trinamool and a deputy.
