Patna:
Often derided as “mentally and physically tired” by opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar, campaigning for next week’s national polls, his opponent said today. 31 years old with unusual questions.
“He’s doing so well … saying such good things about me. He says I’m tired,” the chief minister remarked sarcastically at a rally.
“You told us, kahaan bhage phir rahey they (where were you running)? Where did you stay when you were in Delhi, ”challenged Nitish Kumar, apparently referring to the long absence of Tejashwi Yadav from Bihar after his Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party and the opposition alliance collapsed in the national elections last year.
Mr Kumar continued, “This person is trying to take his father’s and mother’s place. Does he have any knowledge, any experience at all? We have worked in the center and in the state. We have reduced crime, deleted raaj jungle in Bihar. We have improved the pace of development of the state. Improved income … “
The chief minister’s comments underscore the bitterness quotient in Bihar’s election campaign, with attacks often turning personal.
Yesterday Mr. Kumar’s rally in Chhapra featured Tejashwi Yadav’s sister-in-law, Aishwarya Rai, whose father Chandrika Rai, a longtime aide to Lalu Yadav, is this time a candidate for Janata Dal United.
Aishwarya Rai, whose marriage to Tejashwi Yadav’s older brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, and ugly separation played out in the media, was on stage as Mr. Kumar recounted his “abuse” by his in-laws.
Heckled by the slogans of “Lalu Yadav Zindabad“, the Chief Minister has lost his temper.” Raise your hand, he who speaks anap-shanaap (absurdity). Do not do halla (chaos) here. If you don’t want to vote for me, then don’t… The reason you came here… you will destroy the votes of the man you are here for, ”he shouted.
Tejashwi Yadav, who claims large crowds at his rallies show public anger at Nitish Kumar, responded to the blast by saying, “I say once again that Nitish Kumar is tired and cannot run the state. . Mentally and physically, he is tired of running the state. “
Nitish Kumar is fighting for a fourth consecutive term in elections to be held on October 28, November 3 and 7. The results will be announced on November 10.
