Patna:
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Wednesday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would win a two-thirds majority in the Bihar Assembly elections.
“NDA is heading for a big victory in Bihar. Many estimates have also arrived and my information indicates that NDA will emerge victorious,” Pradhan told ANI.
The minister shed light on remarks by LJP leader Chirag Paswan that he was Prime Minister Modi’s Hanuman.
Mr. Paswan’s party is in contention before the NDA in Bihar and has decided to field candidates against the JD-U but not the BJP.
BJP, JD-U, HAM and VIP are together fighting polls under NDA.
Asked whether Tejashwi Yadav attracted “large crowds” to his rallies, Pradhan said that in Bihar, votes and crowds are two different things and “NDA has nothing to fear”.
“In Bihar, people trust Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. People will vote for the NDA,” he said.
Elections will take place in three phases in Bihar for 243 seats – the first phase for 71 seats on October 28, the second phase for 94 seats on November 3 and the third phase for the remaining 78 seats on November 7. The results will be announced on November 10.
