The Constitution of the Boundary Commission is unjustified, the statement added. (Representative)

Srinagar:

The National Conference (CN) on Friday rejected the recently announced boundary commission by the Center for Jammu and Kashmir, saying the party’s three MPs will not participate.

In a statement, CN, chaired by former chief minister Farooq Abdullah, said: “In reference to the Boundaries Commission recently announced by the Indian government, the National Conference of Jammu and Kashmir today rejects this process and its three members of Parliament will not participate in the said committee. “

The party added: “This delimitation commission is a product of the J&K 2019 reorganization law, which the JKNC challenges before and outside the Supreme Court. To participate in this delimitation commission will be equivalent to accepting the events of August 5, 2019, who the NC doesn’t want to do. “

“According to the Constitution of J&K, the constituencies of J&K were to be demarcated in 2026 with the rest of the country. The constituencies of the state were last demarcated in the 1990s. Subsequently, an amendment was made to unanimity in the constitution of J&K. voted in the National Assembly during which all the regional parties, the Congress and the BJP voted so that this amendment accompanies the delimitation with the rest of the country in 2026. Consequently, the Establishment of the delimitation commission is unjustified, “the statement added.
