Mr. Goswami was transferred to a prison from a prison quarantine center on Sunday after he was allegedly found using a cell phone. He has been accused of using a cell phone to post on social media after his phone was seized during his arrest last week.

While being taken to Taloja Prison, Mr. Goswami shouted at the media from the police van, alleging that he was assaulted by Alibaug’s jailer on Saturday evening, that his life was in danger and that he had not been allowed to speak to his lawyer.
