Police arrested the CEO and two directors and eight other LG Polymers officials on Tuesday evening in the styrene vapor leakage incident in which 12 people were killed and 585 fell ill.
on May 7, Visakhapatnam police chief RK Meena told PTI.

The arrests came a day after the high-power committee, appointed by the state government to probe the steam leak, submitted its report to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The report blamed multiple shortcomings on the part of LG and poor management on the part of poor security protocols and the complete breakdown of emergency response procedures in the factory which resulted in the tragedy.

Police recorded a case against LG Polymers at R R Venkatapuram on May 7 under various sections of the IPC, including 278 (making the atmosphere harmful to health).

Exactly two months later, the arrests were made.
