Kerala Higher Education Minister KT Jaleel appeared before customs on Monday in connection with the alleged violation of accepting imported Holy Quran shipments by officials at the UAE Consulate in Thiruvananthapuram for personal use, sources said.
Images broadcast by news channels showed the minister reached the (preventive) customs commission office here in his official vehicle around noon to appear before detectors investigating the case.
Customs last week summoned Jaleel to appear before them on Monday as part of its investigation into the alleged violation of accepting imported Quran shipments by officials at the UAE Consulate in Thiruvananthapuram for their use. personnel through diplomatic channels.
