Devotees prevented from visiting Kashi Vishwanath temple due to coronavirus pandemic

Each year during the sacred month of Sawan, hundreds of thousands of Lord Shiva followers kawad yatra and a host of temples, but the coronavirus pandemic has forced authorities to ban these religious activities.

Although the faithful cannot visit the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, they can now obtain “prasad“home delivered during the Sawan period from today, through the postal department.

“The post office and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust have reached an agreement to deliver prasad during Sawan. The prasaad will be delivered by speed post, “said Krishna Kumar Yadav, director of the Lucknow Circle Post Office.

The facility will be available in the eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh.

To get the prasad, send an electronic money order (EMO) of Rs 251 from any post office to the general manager of the post offices, eastern division of Varanasi, and on the third day, prasad from Kashi Vishwanath temple will be delivered by speed post, he said.

The package will include a photograph of Jyotirlinga from the temple of Kashi Vishwanath, Maha Mritunjaya Maha Yantrama, Shiva Chalisa, the Rudraksh rosary, dried fruit, ashes and a packet of candy, said Yadav.
