Hyderabad:
Hyderabad should be put under lockdown again to slow the spread of the coronavirus, a team of medical experts recommended and a decision will be made in three to four days, Prime Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao said on Sunday.
“The medical and health services have made proposals for reimposing isolation in Hyderabad to be good. But reimposing isolation will be a very important decision. Government mechanisms and people should be ready for this,” said the head of government. The minister’s office quoted Mr. Rao as saying.
“Let us examine the situation carefully for two to three days. If necessary, the cabinet will meet to discuss the foreclosure proposals, alternatives and other related matters and a decision will be made,” he added.
The announcement comes after a high-level review meeting on Sunday on the containment of COVID-19 and the treatment available to patients, the strategy for the future and other related issues. Minister of Health and Media Etela Rajender, Minister of Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao and doctors attended the meeting.
“Compared to the national average, the death rate in the state of Telangana is lower. There is no need to be afraid. Positive patients receive the necessary treatment. We have kept thousands of beds ready for employment in public and private hospitals and colleges. Patients who are in critical conditions are treated in hospitals. Asymptomatic patients receive treatment at home, “said Health Minister Rajender at the agency. ANI press.
Several medical and health officials and medical experts are asking for a new blocking of 15 days under the limits of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), said the minister.
There are 13,436 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Telangana, including 243 deaths, according to the Union’s Ministry of Health.
