On the anniversary of director Anubhav Sinha, actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who worked with him in the 2019 film Article 15, wished him on social media. Ayushmann Khurrana shared a BTS photo of the film sets and wrote: “Happy birthday, Mister Anubhav Sinha! Thanks for Article 15. “Ayushmann, who is said to have signed a new film called Anek with Anubhav Sinha earlier this year, added in his article: “I can’t wait to discover more legendary things this year.” Article 15 is based on article 15 of the Indian constitution, which prohibits discrimination based on religion, caste, place of birth and others. It revolves around the story of a young IPS officer (played by Ayushmann), who investigates the case of gang rape and murder of two Dalit girls despite the problems he faces due to the prevailing strict caste system in Lalganj, Uttar Pradesh.

Article 15 also stars Sayani Gupta, Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, M Nassar, Ashish Verma, Sushil Pandey, Shubrajyoti Bharat, Ronjini Chakraborty and Zeeshan Ayyub in key roles. The film opened to positive reviews in June of last year. Ayushmann Khurrana even won the Critic’s Best Actor Award at the Filmfare Awards 2020 for his performance in the film.
Ayushmann Khurrana was last seen at Gulabo Sitabo, in which he co-starred with Amitabh Bachchan. He has appeared in a number of hits such as Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, BalaShubh Mangal Saavdhan, AndhaDhun, Badhaai ho, Article 15 and Dream girl.
