New Delhi:

Traveling by plane is the safest mode of transportation compared to other people during a pandemic, said the director of India’s Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Tuesday. Randeep Guleria.

Speaking to a webinar titled “ Resting Faith in the Flight ” hosted by GMR Group, Dr. Guleria said: “If an asymptomatic person sits next to you during a short flight and both people are wearing masks and face shields, there is less risk of spreading the virus. Traveling by plane is the safest mode of transportation for others. “

“The way airports and airlines take precautions when traveling during a pandemic is commendable,” he added.

Air travel was suspended in March due to a coronavirus epidemic followed by isolation. Domestic air transport resumed from May 25 after an interval of almost two months with certain conditions.
