Jammu:

The BJP of Jammu and Kashmir condemned the murder of a Kashmir Sarpanch on Monday, saying it was a desperate attempt by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists to derail the ongoing peace process in the territory of The union.

“The BJP condemns the murder of KP Sarpanch in Anantnag. It is a desperate attempt by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists to fail the ongoing peace process at J&K,” said Ravinder Raina, president of the JJM and Kashmir BJP .

Party secretary general (organization) Ashok Kaul also condemned the murder of Ajay Pandit (Bharti).

Ajay Pandit, a sarpanch in the Larkipora region of Anantnag district and a member of Congress, was shot dead by terrorists in his home village around 6 p.m., a police official said.

Raina said Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists were shaken by the successive operations of the Indian security forces.

The chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir VHP, Rajesh Gupta, expressed his shock and sorrow and said that the murder of Hindus in Kashmir was a source of concern for every sensible person in the country. He said that mere loud words would not be enough to condemn the murder. Such actions, he said, cannot prevent the return of the Hindus to Kashmir.

So far, no terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the murder.
