Minneapolis:

The mayor of Minneapolis on Friday declared a strict curfew for the American city after three nights of violent demonstrations against the death of an unarmed African American in police custody.

Mayor Jacob Frey has ordered everyone to leave the city streets from 8 p.m. (0100 GMT Saturday) until 6 a.m., except law enforcement, fire and medical personnel and National Guard soldiers deployed for peacekeeping.

The police officer accused of killing 46-year-old George Floyd, kneeling on his neck, was arrested and charged with murder earlier on Friday.
