Srinagar / New Delhi:

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan died for the country this morning and three others were injured after terrorists attacked a patrol group in Jammu and Kashmir in Sopore. A civilian was also killed in the terrorist attack.

A checkpoint was attacked by terrorists around 7:30 a.m. in the town of Sopore, in the Baramulla district – about 50 km from Srinagar – where some police officers and CRPF troops were on duty, officials said, adding that the troops had responded quickly.

The injured were rushed to hospital and the area was cordoned off.
