New Delhi:

Congress denounced the Modi government on Wednesday for sending a vacation notice to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, saying neither she nor the leadership of Congress would be scared of such measures.

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said the entire country was aware of “deep hatred and vendetta of Prime Minister Narendra Modi” toward the leadership of the Congress.

He said Congress was not afraid of such notifications and would continue to highlight “the misdeeds of a failed Modi government”.

“The BJP government’s deep hatred and sense of vendetta for the leadership of Congress is well known to all. They have now reached new lows. The vacation notice from Priyanka Gandhi’s house signals PM’s anxiety Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath. We will not be intimidated by these small decisions of a frustrated government, “he said in a video message.

On Wednesday, the government asked Congresswoman Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to leave her bungalow in Lutyens’ Delhi within a month, saying she was not entitled to the facilities after her SPG protection was removed.

Last November, it replaced the cover of the special protection group (SPG) of the President of the Congress Sonia Gandhi and her children Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, with Z-plus security from the CRPF.

Surjewala said the whole country saw how the security of the family of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s family had been removed some time ago.

Prime Minister Modi also removed security from two former prime ministers – Manmohan Singh and HD Deve Gowda, he said.

“The leadership of Congress and the former PMs have warned of the failure of this government against its anti-popular policy,” he said, adding that they will continue to do so in the future.
