China criticized the United States at a high-level United Nations meeting.

United Nations, United States:

China criticized the United States at a high-level UN meeting on Thursday over its criticism of the coronavirus, its envoy saying: “Enough is enough!”

Two days after President Donald Trump used his annual address to the General Assembly to attack China, his ambassador to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, strongly criticized the United States’ global role.

“I must say, enough is enough! You have already created enough turmoil for the world,” he said at a meeting of the Security Council on world governance which was attended by several leaders by video conference. ‘State.

“The United States currently has nearly seven million confirmed cases and more than 200,000 deaths. With the most advanced medical technology and system in the world, why has the United States been found to have the most confirmed cases and deaths? ” He asked.

“If anyone is to be held responsible, it should be a few American politicians themselves.”

Using a phrase often spoken by American leaders to China, Zhang said, “The United States must understand that a major power must behave like a major power.”

The United States, he said, “is completely isolated.”

“It’s time to wake up,” he said in remarks enthusiastically supported by his Russian counterpart.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft expressed anger at the tone of the session, chaired by the President of Niger, Issoufou Mahamadou.

“You know, shame on each of you. I am amazed and disgusted with the content of today’s discussion,” said Craft.

“In fact, I’m really ashamed of this Council – the ~ CHECK ~ members of the Council who have used this opportunity to focus on the political grudges rather than the critical issue at hand. My God.”

Trump in his speech on Tuesday demanded action against China for spreading the “scourge” of Covid-19.

China initially suppressed news of the respiratory illness when it emerged in Wuhan last year, and early advice has minimized the risk of transmission.

Chinese Communist leaders recently tried to turn the story into one of success in stopping the virus.

Trump’s response to the pandemic has become a major political issue as he seeks a new term in the November 3 election.
