The CBI has arrested a junior employee of the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department for allegedly sexually abusing around 50 children (aged five to 16) over the past 10 years, officials said Tuesday. central agency.

Child abuse took place in three districts of the state – Chitrakoot, Banda and Hamirpur. The accused was arrested in Banda and will likely appear in court shortly.
During raids on the accused’s residence and other locations, the CBI recovered eight cell phones, cash for around Rs 8 lakh, sex toys, a laptop and other digital evidence , including a large volume of child sexual abuse (CSAM) material.
The accused told investigators he bribed the children with cell phones and other electronic gadgets to make sure they kept quiet about his activities.
