Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, senior BJP leader and Union minister, came to a halt in Congress on Tuesday, saying that instead of being part of the solution to the problems facing the country, the party d opposition creates “political pollution”.
Speaking to journalists, the Minister for Minority Affairs said that the country was experiencing an unprecedented crisis with the coronavirus and Cyclone Amphan but that the opposition party was engaged in “delusional politics”.
“Congress has become a laboratory of political hypocrisy during a pandemic,” he said later in a statement.
His remarks came after criticism by heads of Congress of government measures to fight the coronavirus and revive the economy.
Instead of creating confusion among people, Congress should try to be part of the confidence-building measures during these hours of crisis, said Naqvi.
“Instead of becoming part of the solution to the problem, Congress is creating political pollution,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi works for the security and well-being of the country and its people through all sections, he said, adding that he has put state governments in confidence in the fight against pandemic.
