Actor Sonu Sood said Tuesday that he has launched a toll-free number to help migrants reach their homes.
Moved by the plight of migrants in difficulty who walk for several kilometers without food or water to reach their home, Sood facilitated multiple buses for workers stranded in town due to nationwide lockout.
The actor has transported workers to distant states such as Karnataka, Bihar, Jharkhand and the UP.
Now he has launched a toll-free number – 18001213711 through which one can contact the Sood team for assistance.
“I got a lot of calls … thousands of calls every day. My family and friends were busy collecting the data, and then we realized that we could miss a lot of people that we could not approach. We So we decided to open this call center, it’s a toll-free number, “Sood told PTI.
The actor said the attempt is to help as many people as possible to reach their homes.
“We have a dedicated team working on it, trying to reach as many people as possible and contacting each person. We don’t know how many people we can help, but we will try,” he added.
