Coronavirus case, India: more than 4,900 patients died.

New Delhi:

India reported the largest single-day increase in the number of new coronavirus patients and deaths from highly infectious disease, with a total of 1,733,763 cases and 4,971 deaths. In the past 24 hours, 7,964 new patients have been registered and 265 patients have died. This is the second consecutive day that India – the ninth country most affected by the pandemic – has reported more than 7,000 cases in a single day, eight days when more than 6,000 patients were registered. To date, more than 80,000 patients have recovered.

On Friday, three states – Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Telangana – recorded the highest jump in a single day in the number of patients with COVID-19.

In Maharashtra, the most affected state, 116 deaths related to COVID-19 were recorded in one day, bringing the number to 2098. The total number of cases has exceeded the 62,000 mark.

In Tamil Nadu, 874 new cases have been reported, with the number of infections exceeding 20,000.

Telangana registered 169 new patients and four deaths on Friday, bringing the number to 2,425.
