At least three people were killed and 15 others were injured in an explosion near Maskan Chowrangi in the Gulshan-i-Iqbal area of Karachi on Wednesday, officials from the Edhi Foundation said.
All of the injured were taken to Patel hospital, officials added, Dawn reported.
The nature of the explosion has not yet been established. However, Mubina Town Police, SHO, said it “appears to be a cylinder explosion,” adding that the demining team is arriving to verify the cause of the explosion.
The explosion is suspected to have taken place on the second floor of a building. Eyewitnesses reported that the windows of neighboring buildings as well as some vehicles were also damaged.
A day earlier, five people were injured when a bomb exploded at the entrance to a bus terminal near Sheerin Jinnah settlement.
