Indore:
In the midst of the Congress government crisis in Rajasthan, BJP chief executive and former Lok Sabha president Sumitra Mahajan said young leaders should not be overlooked in politics and said his party had started to think in this direction.
She said young people should also have the opportunity to show their skills in politics.
Asked about the turn of events in Rajasthan, Ms. Mahajan (77) said: “There is an internal battle (in Congress) going on in Rajasthan. But the time has come to stop neglecting youth leadership (in politics) The BJP, in a way, has started to think that young leaders should not be ignored. Young people should also have the opportunity to show their skills in politics. “
Mahajan, a former Indore MP who did not contest the 2019 Lok Sabha polls because she is over 75, did not give a direct comment on the Rajasthan crisis, saying it was the “internal problem” of Congress.
Before interacting with the media, Ms. Mahajan launched the BJP’s “Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Tulsi” campaign in Sanver, where a bypoll will take place after MP Tulsiram Silawat has left the Assembly and the Congress and joined the BJP.
