New Delhi:
“Ja Simran ja … jeele apni zindagi” – who can forget the decisive dialogue of Amrish Puri in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge? 25 years later, Kajol, who played the role of Amrish Puri’s daughter, Simran, surely doesn’t have it and neither do we. This week, the film crew celebrates 25 years of DDLJ and Kajol, in tandem with the vibe, posted a ROFL tweet on Thursday. Kajol’s tweet reveals whether DDLJ was defined in the present day, how the coronavirus situation would have altered the last scene. Sharing a Lifebuoy ad, Kajol resurrected Amrish Puri’s dialogue and wrote, “Ja virus ja, jeene de humein apni zindagi.”
The ad features a hilarious conversation between Simran and Raj de Kajol, performed by Shah Rukh Khan, in the days of COVID-19 because disinfection first, then everything else comes. So here’s what Simran would say to Raj if DDLJ was done in the present times.

Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan also recreated the “palace“scene on Twitter. In the film, Raj chanted “palace … palace … palace“, hoping that Simran would turn around and look at him one last time before boarding the train. Simran’s farewell smile convinced Raj that she was in love with him too, just as he was with her.
