Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday conducted an aerial survey of areas flooded by heavy rains in Gorakhpur district.

He also inspected preparations for manufacturing Lalit Narayan Mishra Railway Hospital and AIIMS-Gorakhpur L-2 hospitals for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. He said L-2 hospitals should be ready at the earliest, the UP government said in a statement.

Officials said a 50-bed ward for coronavirus patients is being established at AIIMS-Gorakhpur.

After inspecting the water level, he instructed officials in the flood and irrigation department to constantly monitor and ensure that all dams remain safe. He asked the district administration to ensure an adequate deployment of boats in the areas affected by the floods.
