Preliminary examinations were held in January and the results were announced in February.

New Delhi:

The engineering services (main) review and the geologist (main) services review scheduled for August have been postponed. The Union Civil Service Commission (UPSC) has notified the postponement. “The (main) engineering services examination, 2020 and the (main) geoscience examination, scheduled for 2020 from 08-09 / 08/2020 are postponed until further notice,” said the UPSC.

The current exam dates for the two exams have been postponed by the UPSC from their previous schedule.

The UPSC revised the exam schedule for the current year due to the COVID-19 lockout, which resulted in the exams being unable to be scheduled and having to be rescheduled.

These exams were the first on the calendar according to the new date sheet.

For both exams, candidates who passed the preliminary exam were eligible.

Preliminary examinations were held in January and the results were announced in February.

The combined geoscience (main) exam will be descriptive in nature and will consist of three articles. The marks obtained on the main examination and the personal interview will be taken into account in deciding the final merit.

The engineering services examination (main) will consist of two conventional tests in a specific engineering discipline with a duration of three hours and a maximum score of 600 (300 points in each test). The next step will be a personality test with 200 points. The marks obtained by candidates for the preliminary examination, the main examination and the interview would determine the final ranking.

The next exam is the NDA & NA exam which is scheduled for September 6. This year, instead of two, only one exam will be organized for selection at the National Defense Academy (NDA) and the Naval Academy (NA).

In accordance with the new schedule, the preliminary examination of the civil services will take place on October 4. The review was scheduled for May 31 earlier.
