Lucknow:
Vikas Dubey, the notorious criminal behind the cold-blooded murder of eight UP police officers, managed to escape the arrest despite extensive research by police teams to capture him.
More than 25 police teams have raided more than 100 sites in the past 48 hours, with police teams conducting searches near the border with Nepal and other states. The police also increased the cash reward to Rs 1 lakh for information about the plight of Dubey, who has at least 60 cases against him, including the murder and attempted murder.
A surveillance team has also been put in place to scan more than 500 mobile phones in order to retrieve information relating to its current location.
But despite extensive research, Dubey has remained untraceable until now.
There is also information that Dubey could go to court, but the information could not be verified by GalacticGaming.
“Pull him wherever he is,” said Dubey’s mother, according to the PTI news agency.
She says that no pity should be shown to her son.
“People came and told me about the incident. I also saw it on television. Anyone who has suffered so much to others has to pay for his sin,” she said.
His father also left it to the government to take appropriate action against his son. “The government will act according to standards, what can I do? The government will take action it deems appropriate,” Ramkumar Dubey, quoted by PTI, said on Saturday.
On Saturday, the Kanpur district administration demolished a house belonging to Vikas Dubey.
In preparation for demolition, a group of armed police (some with what appears to be assault rifles) stand guard as a lone black and yellow bulldozer destroys the house.
The post officer (SHO) of the Chaubeypur police station, under which the village of Vikas Dubey falls, was suspended.
“At the time of the meeting, he fled the meeting site. If he had faced the criminals, the situation could have been different,” said Mohit Agarwal, Inspector General (Kanpur Range), quoted by the agency as saying. ANI press.
Early Friday morning, a large police force of about 50 police officers, from three police stations to arrest Vikas Dubey, was ambushed by Dubey’s gunmen when they reached the village of Bikru, about 150 km from the state capital, Lucknow.
Eight police officers, including an assistant police superintendent, were killed and seven others injured.
Vikas Dubey’s criminal record started in 1990 with a murder case. Over the years, he has accumulated charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, extortion and riot.
In 2001, Dubey was charged with the murder of Santosh Shukla, a BJP chief from Kanpur who was chased and shot inside a police station. Dubey “surrendered” in 2002 but was acquitted.
A criminal with political ties, he was also a member of a political party in the past and is said to have detained armed henchmen in his village.
Widely feared, he exerts an influence and a plaque in his village, on the site of a project, describes him as “a former member of Zila panchayat”.
