Interior Minister Amit Shah on Sunday ordered authorities to hand over bodies of suspected COVID-19 cases in Delhi to relatives without waiting for laboratory confirmation of the infection, but the ashes should be treated with precaution and in accordance with government directives.
A spokesperson for the Interior Ministry also said that three teams of four doctors each had been made up of doctors from the AIIMS and the central and Delhi governments to inspect the health establishments dedicated to the fight against the pandemic. of COVID-19 in the national capital.

The spokesperson added that AIIMS Hospital in Delhi has set up a 24×7 COVID-19 hotline for English and Hindi callers to make OPD appointments and talk to volunteers while the doctors can talk to consultants.

The announcements were made by the Interior Ministry after two high-level meetings, Interior Minister Amit Shah spoke on Sunday of the management of the worrying situation of COVID-19 in Delhi.
The first meeting was attended by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and senior officials from Union Home and Health Ministries, while the second took place with mayors and commissioners of the three municipal corporations in Delhi.
Mr. Baijal, Mr. Kejriwal and Mr. Vardhan also attended Mr. Shah’s meeting with mayors and municipal commissioners.
The number of COVID-19 cases quickly approached the 39,000 mark in Delhi.
