Madhya Pradesh governor Lalji Tandon is stable and improving, although he remains in the ICU at Medanta hospital, an official said on Sunday.
Lalji Tandon, 85, was admitted to hospital on the morning of June 11 with respiratory problems, difficulty urinating and fever.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath went to the hospital on Sunday evening and inquired about his health.
Lalji Tandon has been kept under the supervision of doctors and his condition has improved following the treatment provided by the experts, the hospital said in its medical report.
His report on the COVID-19 sample was negative at the time of admission, the report said.
“He is doing better. He had to be operated on during the night. Currently, he is in intensive care, but he is improving,” said Dr Rakesh Kapoor, director of the Medanta hospital at PTI.
The medical bulletin published on Sunday said: “Doctors detected a liver problem during preventive health tests for which it was examined in more detail by a CT-guided procedure. After the procedure, he developed internal abdominal bleeding for whom an emergency operation was performed. The operation was successful and he was transferred to intensive care where his condition is improving. “
“He is stable and is under the strict supervision of medical experts and the decision to release him from the hospital will be made once he has fully recovered,” he added.
