Jaipur:
BJP leader JP Nadda claimed on Sunday that the opposition had become without leadership and started to oppose the country in its antagonism to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said congressional leaders opposed the repeal of Section 370 and indirectly supported Pakistan.
“At a time when the whole country was celebrating the repeal of Article 370, Rahul Gandhi argued that injustice had been done to the people of Srinagar,” Nadda said, speaking to party workers in Rajasthan by videoconference.
He was speaking after inaugurating two BJP offices and laying the foundations for six offices in various districts of the state.
“It is unfortunate that the opposition has gone without leadership. It has started to oppose the country in its antagonism towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
The BJP leader said party workers have a responsibility to support government initiatives to ensure they reach the people as well as engage the opposition in political discourse by giving the right information.
Calling the land reform laws revolutionary, he said Prime Minister Modi freed farmers from restrictions and now they can sell their produce in any market.
He said the Modi government has worked to secure the country “on land, in the air and in the water,” and referred to the development of border infrastructure that has facilitated the rapid transport of military personnel and logistics.
Speaking of the newly opened offices in the state, Nadda said that while others became a “family party,” the BJP was like a “big family” in itself.
He appreciated the work done by the party across the country during the coronavirus lockdown.
Mr Nadda also targeted the Congressional government in Rajasthan, saying the state was reeling from corruption and lawlessness.
He said the state government has no commitment to the people of the state and the BJP should work to return to power in the next election.
